MENTORING RESOURCES

Marriage Mentor
A one-year commitment for a couple to walk with a newly married couple through 12 simple conversations at the rate of one per month. Each mentoring couple will receive approximately three hours of training.

Spiritual Caregiver
Provides lay counseling for adults needing basic guidance and spiritual care. This position requires a six-month training course.

Adoptive Families

Small-Group Facilitator
Facilitates a group of adoptive parents (international or domestic), offering hope and encouragement while addressing the challenges that are unique to these families.

Kids’ Program Facilitator
Facilitates a program for children (ages 3-12) of parents attending the Adoptive Families Support Group, which involves interactive, educational, fun games, as well as encouragement.

Kids’ Program Helper
Provides help in the implementation of the kids’ program. Must be at least 12 years of age; being an adopted child is preferred.

Beyond Love - Women Healing from Spouses Sexual Addiction
Small-Group Facilitator
Facilitates a group of women broken from the pain caused by a loved one’s hurtful behaviors (pornography, adultery, emotional abandonment and sexual withholding) using biblical principles.

DivorceCare
Small-Group Facilitator
Facilitates a group of divorced or separated people using biblical principles. Training provided.

DivorceCare 4 Kids
Kids’ Facilitator
Facilitates a group of children (ages 5-12) whose parents are separated or divorced using biblical principles with videos, dramas, discussion, workbook, journaling and hands-on activities.

Freedom From Pornography
Small-Group Facilitator
Facilitates a group of men who have experienced brokenness due to pornography, adultery, emotional disconnection or sexual withholding using biblical principles

Grief Share
Small-Group Facilitator
Facilitates a group of people who have lost a loved one by using biblical principles to offer hope and healing to face daily challenges and rebuild lives.

Her Choice to Heal - Post Abortion
Post Abortion Facilitator
Facilitates a group of women experiencing the guilt and shame of abortion, offering healing and hope through biblical principles; a life experience required.

Mental Illness (Men & Women)
Small-Group Facilitator
Facilitates a group of men and women who are living with mental illness, i.e., PTSD, bipolar disorder, anxiety disorders, depressive disorders, dissociative disorders, schizophrenia and panic disorders, offering hope and peac through biblical principles

Military Wives Connections
Small-Group Facilitator
Facilitates a group of military wives facing fear, loneliness, uncertainty, depression, insecurities, burdens and responsibilities, offering hope and connectedness through biblical principles.

Wounded Hearts - Female Victims of Childhood Sexual Abuse
Small-Group Facilitator
Facilitates a group of women who have experienced childhood sexual abuse, giving them peace and healing through biblical principles.

Coffeehouse Team
Coffeehouse Team Coordinator
Provides leadership and oversight in areas of scheduling, procedures and team responsibilities. This position will also serve as a member of the CR Directional Team.

 

Coffeehouse Team Member
Serves snacks to the attendees of CR, including set up and clean up; one Friday every two months; 9:00-9:45 p.m.

Encouragement Coach
Works with CR ministry leader to plan/organize social activities for the core CR Team; 2-4 hours/month; must have 12-step knowledge/experience, with 6-12 months of personal recovery.

Greeter Team
Greeter Team Coordinator
Provides leadership and oversight for scheduling of greeters, position assignments, vests, the training of greeters. and is responsible for the collection of money from the meal. Will also serve as a member of the CR Directional Team.

Greeter Team Member
Various responsibilities including door greeting, ushering and money collecting during meal time; one Friday every month, 5:45-7:00 p.m.; if ushering only 7:00-8:00 p.m.

Information Team
Information Table Team Coordinator
Provides leadership and oversight in areas of scheduling, procedures and team responsibilities. Will also serve as a member of the CR Directional Team.

Information Table Team Member
Sets up the informational materials for attendees; Fridays, 5:30-7:00 p.m. on a rotating schedule; must enjoy working with people and have 12-step knowledge/experience.

Meal Team
Meal Team Coordinator
Plans the menu and provides the food for the evening meal for CR attendees each Friday; understanding and experience in menu planning and food service. Will also serve as a member of the CR Directional Team.

Meal Team Member
Works with the Meal Team Coordinator in helping with food preparation.

Meal Serving Team Coordinator
Provides leadership and oversight for scheduling of Meal Serving Teams and their responsibilities; works with Meal Team Coordinator, as needed; responsible for design and set up of weekly meal signage for Fridays; will also serve as a member of the CR Directional Team.

Meal Serving Team – preferably LifeGroups
A team of people who serve the meal to the CR attendees, which includes setting out the food/drinks and clean up; one Friday every two months, 5:30-7:30 p.m.

Newcomer Coach
Welcomes new attendees, which involves showing them a CR video, explaining the CR program, and answering any questions; Fridays, 8:00-9:00 p.m., on a rotating schedule; must have 12-step knowledge/experience, with 6-12 months of personal recovery. Will also serve as a member of the CR Directional Team.

Outreach/Transportation Team
Outreach/Transportation Team Coordinator
Provides leadership and oversight in areas of scheduling, procedures and team responsibilities. Will also serve as a member of the CR Directional Team.

Outreach/Transportation Team Member
Drives to different facilities in the Lincoln area to transport people to and from the CR meeting; Fridays, 1-2 times/month; must have 12-step experience/knowledge, a vehicle, valid driver’s license and car insurance.

Praise & Worship Team
Praise & Worship Team Coordinator
Provides leadership and oversight for the worship teams (vocal/instrumental), including auditions, training, production and the organization and scheduling of rotating bands for all rehearsals and Friday prep time and performance. Will also serve as a member of the CR Directional Team.

Praise & Worship Team Member
Leads worship through vocal/instrumental involvement; Fridays, 7:00-8:00 p.m., plus rehearsal practices.

Prayer Team
Prayer Team Coordinator
Provides leadership and organization for the planning and scheduling of devotions for the CR monthly team meetings. Will also serve as a member of the CR Directional Team.

Prayer Team Member
Leads devotions for CR monthly team meetings; 1 hour/month.

Small-Group Leader Team
Small-Group Leader for Open-Share Groups
Facilitates small-group discussions; Fridays, 8:00-9:00 p.m., on rotating schedule; must have worked through the 12 steps, with 6-12 months of personal recovery, plus additional training required.

Small-Group Leader for Step-Study Groups
Facilitates small-group discussion and accountability with step-study material; weekly meetings, 2 hours/week; must have worked through the 12 steps, with 6-12 months of personal recovery, plus additional training required.

Sponsorship Coach
Teaches and trains people who are willing to be sponsors, which involves teaching a high level of accountability by implementing the steps, confronting and challenging the person. Requires 2-4 hours/month; must have worked through the 12 steps, with 6-12 months of personal recovery. Will also serve as a member of the CR Directional Team.

Tech Team
Provides tech support for worship and rehearsals, which includes sound, lights, projectionist, set up and tear down; tech knowledge/experience preferred, but will train; Fridays, 6:00-9:00 p.m. (Upper Room), plus rehearsal practices (TBD).

Testimony Coach
Works with people to write out testimonies; requires 4-5 hours/month, good communication, writing and people skills. Will also serve as a member of the CR Directional Team.

Training Coach
Teaches and trains step-leaders; requires 4-5 hours/month; must have worked through the 12 steps, with 6-12 months of personal recovery. Will also serve as a member of the CR Directional Team.
