The Joy in Giving & Making a Difference

“It is more blessed to give than to receive!” — It’s true isn’t it? There’s far more joy in giving and making a difference in someone’s life than in getting something for yourself.

When we give, we reflect the character of God. This month you have many opportunities to give to others in significant ways. City Impact, People’s City Mission and other community organizations are looking for extra help this time of year. Here are a couple of important ways you can contribute to both the physical and spiritual needs of people in our community and the world through Lincoln Berean Church.

One opportunity to give is through the first-ever LBC blood drive for the Community Blood Bank. During the winter months, the supply of blood in our community is often low and the need is great. Blood donors are heroes to the many people in our congregation who are alive today because blood was available when they needed it.We want to challenge you who have never given blood, along with those who have, to sign up this weekend in the Coffee House for the LBC blood drive being held this Wednesday, December 12. Stop by the booth in the Coffee House for all the details.

Second, let me remind you of the difference your year-end financial gifts to LBC make in thousands of lives here in Lincoln and around the world. The generosity of our congregation is astounding, whether we’re talking about the General Fund, Benevolence Fund, the India project, Global Outreach or the Purpose Campaign. One important financial goal we have set is to pay off the mortgage on all our facilities in the next three years. Reaching this goal will save several million dollars in interest costs that can be redirected towards ministry in our community, region and world. Your year-end gifts make a huge difference in lives in our church, all over Lincoln and all around the world.
