Summer Try-Outs

An elementary-age child was sitting at his school desk trying hard to do what the teacher had asked. He wasn’t successful in his attempts so the teacher came to his desk and showed him how to do it. She put her hand around his hand and they slowly maneuvered the pencil to accomplish the assignment. As she guided his hand and the pencil, the teacher said, “You do it like this…just little by little.” “Oh,” said the boy as he sat back in his chair, “I know what my problem was…I was doing it big by big.”

We’re giving you the chance to do service “little by little” by offering Summer Try-outs. Summer Try-outs is a serving opportunity to “try-out” a ministry area of interest during the summer months (June-August). These are short-term positions with no strings attached… just a three-month commitment.

Sometimes serving “big by big” isn’t an option. Maybe your fall/winter work or activity schedules restrict you from serving full time. Summer Try-outs gives you the opportunity to do your assignment for service while accommodating your schedule and giving you the flexibility you need.

Only a select group of service positions are available for this short-term format.

• Campus Operations
  Trades Team, Grounds Team, Mowing Team, Saturday Morning Auditorium
  Cleaning Team, Traffic Team, Sponsor-a-Flowerbed

• Children’s Ministries
  VBS (July 21-25):Decorating, Story Teacher, Table Leader, Class or Kitchen Helper
  Nursery – 5th grade: Story Teacher, Table Leader, Preschool Worker

• Service Ministries
  Greeter & Red Vest (Saturday & Sunday)

• Women’s Ministries
  Funeral Server or Food Provider, Kitchen Cleaner,
  Wedding Reception Helper, Clothing Exchange Helper

• Worship Arts Ministries
  Attendance Counter,Usher,WAM-4-Kids

You wil have the chance to sign up during the weekends of April 26/27, May 3/4, and May 10/11. Be thinking and praying where you might like to serve...just little by little.
