Working Together to Change the World

Throughout our history, Lincoln Berean has sought to have a significant impact, not only in our city, but also around the world.

In over 30 countries, Lincoln  Berean missionaries are seeking to make Christ known in a way that will change  lives for eternity. And now we are looking to go even farther and deeper in our  global outreach.

As many of you know, over the coming years Lincoln Berean will be working in partnership with  Avant Ministries to train, launch and send church planting teams around the world. Our strategy represents a bold step of faith that will incorporate a couple of important new areas of emphasis:

First, rather than just sending individuals or individual families from our church, we are trusting God to raise up entire teams of people from Lincoln Berean to go to the world together. We believe this emphasis allows us to better reflect the model of the Body shown in Scripture and will allow us to be even more effective in our efforts.

Second, we are utilizing Avant’s “Short-Cycle” strategy for church planting. This strategy involves working in a catalytic way to shorten the amount of time it takes to establish a reproducing church. By working together as a team and utilizing five key operating principles in the midst ofan aggressive faith context, we are looking to see a reproducing church planting movement take root in about five years. Each of these movements will be launched in a presently unreached area — meaning less than 2% of the population know Christ.

This week we will seek to further extend the impact of this initiative by meeting together with leaders from ten other large churches (see inset) across North America. On Monday and Tuesday, we will be hosting an Avant Leadership Summit here at Lincoln Berean where Avant Ministries will be sharing more about the opportunities God is putting before us today. Please pray as leaders from Avant, Lincoln Berean, and these ten other “mega-churches” meet to dream about and discuss how God could use us and this “Short-Cycle” strategy to accelerate the fulfillment of His great global mission.
