By His Design

Each of the Olympic participants appears perfectly designed for their sport event. For example, Yao Ming’s height of 7’6”gives him a definite advantage on the basketball court. Shawn Johnson’s height of 4’9”gives her flexibility for quick and powerful precision on the floor, bars and vault. Michael Phelps’ impressive 6’7”wingspan gives him what he needs to swim with exceptional speed and strength.

You, too, have been uniquely created and designed for an event. An event that lasts a lifetime: service. According to Ephesians 2:10, you are God’s workmanship. You are His masterpiece, perfectly and sufficiently created and equipped to do good works…to serve! The Message translation says,

He creates each of us by Christ Jesus to join Him in the work He does, the good work He has gotten ready for us to do, work we had better be doing.

Service Network is a ministry that is devoted to providing every opportunity possible for individuals to serve in the area/position that God has called and designed them to do. We desire Lincoln Berean to be a training-ground for this lifetime event; a place where people are “going for the gold”in serving others.We want to challenge and encourage everyone to get involved in God’s work by serving the children so they are grounded and prepared to be a light in their world of influence and by serving the adults so they can stand strong in their homes and in the marketplace. Our goal and prayer is to serve the entire church body so each attendee will be equipped and energized to reach friends and family, our community and the world for Christ. That’s God’s plan…that’s His work…and He’s called and designed you to do it! And someday, we too will stand on a medal podium and hear the golden words, “Well done, good and faithful servant.”

What an exciting plan! What an awesome privilege!
