A Generous Church
Sacrificially, Joyfully Participating
In Christian circles, stewardship can be referred to as generous living. Yet our culture tries to define the good life by comfort and security, what we own, what we keep, sort of like points on a scoreboard.
In contrast, followers of Jesus find joy by letting go of the stored riches, literally giving the points away, by answering His quiet call to fund the work of His Kingdom.
We believe in turning away from the limited promise and false hope of materialism. Instead, our desire is the person of Jesus, our ultimate and eternal Treasure.
We show this allegiance to Christ by obeying His command to love God and our neighbor.
We use the wealth God gives us to fulfill our role in managing His riches according to His directions.
Lincoln Berean wants to present every manager complete, or mature, in Christ. To that end we offer many helps and resources to help you learn to manage the finances God has given you:
- The Benevolent Fund — for small amounts of financial help.
- Financial Coaches — Available upon request. No fee.
- Introduction to Generous Living — A three-week class to teach the basic theology of stewardship. Suggested for every attendee.
- Financial Freedom — A class on managing finances at home. Good for those just starting out or others who need to learn the skills of budgeting and saving.
- Building a Master Financial Plan — A six-week class for those ready to design and implement a comprehensive plan including insurances, savings, investments and legal documents.
- Passing the Baton — A two-week class to help you discover a biblical plan for your will and estate documents.
May we become known, as the original Berean church in the New Testament, as a generous church, sacrificing joyfully to participate in Christ’s work across the world.
