Understanding, Defending and Living the Christian Worldview

The Worldview Studies courses offered by the Christian Leadership College present adult learners an opportunity to further their understanding of the Christian worldview and how to live it effectively in our culture.

Courses for the upcoming spring semester include:
"The New Testament in Context," "A Clash of Cultures" and "Can You Defend That?"

"The New Testament in Context" is a new course scheduled for thirteen weeks beginning Monday, January 14. A Christian worldview is a biblical worldview; that is a worldview informed by and grounded in the Christian scriptures. An understanding of the main themes and structures of the New Testament writings is imperative to developing a Christian worldview and this course, taught by Randy Dugger, ThM, will enhance that understanding. The goal for the thirteen weeks is to identify how the message of the books fits into the overall context of the Bible, the context of the New Testament itself, and the historical context in which each book was written.

"A Clash of Cultures" and "Can You Defend That?" are offered again this year by Mark Mathewson, PhD. A Christian worldview is not merely a set of beliefs Christians hold, but beliefs we are expected to live out in the culture and defend when challenged. To prepare for living out the Christian worldview, students will critically examine current American culture; its relationship to Christianity, the Church and individual Christians. A Clash of Cultures begins Tuesday, January 22 and runs for five weeks. To equip students to handle objections to the Christian worldview, Can You Defend That? considers both the biblical mandate to defend the Christian faith as well as the Christian's responsibility to offer nonbelievers reasons why Christianity is true. This five-week course begins Tuesday,March 18.

Tuition for the five-week courses is $50 each. The New Testament in Context course is $75 for the thirteen weeks. If The New Testament in Context is taken with another Worldview Studies course in the spring semester, tuition for both courses will be $50 each. All Worldview Studies courses require textbooks which are available to purchase from the CLC.

Pre-registration for Worldview Studies courses is requested. Register by calling Amy at 483-6512 or e-mail info@clcnebraska.com.
