On Your Mark, Get Set…
We’re just three weeks away from the launch of a new year of ministry together here at LBC.
There are many exciting new opportunities before us.
Our first Short-Cycle Church Planting team is forming. We’ll be launching Men’s Fraternity and “The Quest for Authentic Manhood”. On the weekend of September 6/7,we’ll be laying out the Church Unleashed vision for the coming years. There are new mentoring opportunities and great new classes that will help you lay a foundation for walking in the Truth for a lifetime.
Along with these new ventures we’ll continue to expand and develop the core ministries that help people grow to maturity in Christ and prepare them for building the Kingdom every day of the week. The opportunities to impact children, youth, families and people in every season and walk of life are almost limitless. Our goal as a church is to equip and encourage you to be on mission in every facet of your life, living each day to see the power of Jesus transform us, our friends and family and the culture itself.
There is one thing that is essential if we are to get this new ministry year off on the right foot. We must conclude the current year with a strong finish! Before we can run the next exciting leg of the race, we need to complete the present leg with a kick.
Like runners in a relay race, each proceeding year builds on the previous one and enables us to run with abandon the course God has laid out before us.
There are several projects that need to be completed before the beginning of the new ministry year. The unfinished portion of the Youth Complex needs to be brought up to code so we can use this badly needed space come fall. We want to end the year with all the bills paid and to be in a good cash position as we take new steps of faith in the coming year. To close out this fiscal year, we need to have a June-July goal of$1.1M in our General Fund. You can see where we are
at in that goal on the bottom of this page as of last weekend.
Generosity, even in challenging economic times, is a demonstration of our trust in God’s faithfulness to provide for our needs (and even more), and our commitment to the mission He has given us to accomplish together. Will you pray daily for these next few weeks, that God will direct our giving, provide for our needs, and keep our eyes fixed upon Him for direction in the days to come?
