Crosswalk Connections
The first day of school can be an anxious moment for most families as we wonder what the new school year will bring and what new challenges our children will experience.
We wonder if they will do well in school, get along with their teachers and make new friends. This is a time when we can feel all alone, wondering if we are the only ones going through such an experience.
Sitting down with a number of our leaders this past week, I am reminded of how busy our lives can get with so many things going on. So many of our activities truly are good things to be investing our lives in. Our people are serving in the church, active in the community, spending time with the family, helping their children develop into healthy adults. As a pastor, I ask myself if it is truly wise to be asking our people to add more good things to their lives. There has to be a better way to help people become intentional about their lives.
What if there was a way to make your life more intentional, offering you more potential to impact your world while being able to spend time in many of the same activities you are already involved in? What if we could help you connect with other families who intersect your life in the same places you spend your time? One simple way to do this would be to help you connect with other Lincoln Berean families who go to the same schools your children go to.
Imagine what the possibilities could be if you were connected to these families through a LifeGroup! You are already crossing paths with each other at school conferences, sporting events, musicals, field trips, and more. Imagine if you could meet together as families to encourage each other in the faith, helping each other grow. You could also be praying for your schools, seeking out how God might use you as a team to be a positive influence with others at your school.
In the coming weeks we will be launching a campaign called Crosswalk Connections to help connect families with others who live in the same school districts. Please consider how beneficial this could be for you and your children to be meeting with families in your same situation. The possibilities could be tremendous.
You can sign up by visiting the Ministry Spotlight booth in the main foyer, online at www.lincolnberean.org/webview, or call the church office. We look forward to seeing you at the crosswalk and helping you get connected.
