Introducing: Worldview Studies

An evening program of The Christian Leadership College

The program
The Christian Leadership College’s Worldview Studies program provides quality training for individuals who want to understand, develop, articulate, defend and live according to a Christian worldview.

Who should take Worldview Studies courses?
The Worldview Studies program is designed for those who are not interested in pursuing the completion of the Certificate programs CLC offers, but would like to further their understanding of the Christian worldview and how to live it effectively in our culture.  No prior college experience is required.  In certain cases, upper level high school students may take courses.

Who are the instructors?
Worldview Studies courses will be taught by CLC faculty who are highly qualified and gifted instructors who have knowledge and expertise in the areas in which they teach.  Many of them hold Ph.D.s or other advanced degrees.

When do courses meet?
Worldview Studies courses will be offered in four five-week sessions (two each semester) during the academic year.  Courses will be held in the evening at Lincoln Berean Church and will meet once a week for three hours. Fall 2006 courses will meet on Thursday evenings beginning August 31.

What courses are offered?
Courses offered in the Worldview Studies program will center on a Christian worldview, philosophy and apologetics. The courses include:

  • Developing a Christian Mind
  • Navigating Through a World of Ideas
  • A Clash of Cultures: Christianity & American Culture
  • Rediscovering Our Ethical Bearings
  • Can You Defend That? Making the Case for the Christian Worldview
  • Overcoming the Church’s Historical Amnesia
  • The Old Testament in Context
  • The New Testament in Context
  • Understanding Theology I and II

Courses need not be taken in any particular order.  Students may take as few or as many as they wish.  Depending on the course, students can expect to have assigned readings, out of class projects and in-class discussion. Worldview Studies courses do not transfer to Certificate programs.  Any student wishing to take courses for credit towards a Certificate program should apply to the CLC as a full or part-time student and take the required courses for those programs.

Check the Web site at www.christianleadershipcollege.org for details about the courses offered this fall.

What is the cost?
The cost for Worldview Studies courses are very reasonable. There are no application fees.  The fee per class is $50 and paid on a class-by-class basis. The student will also be responsible for the cost of any required textbooks. Some courses may have a cap limiting the number of students, so sign up early.
