Wednesday Night Live Begins in September
Wednesday night children’s programming takes on a new look this fall. The best of the “old” will be kept and exciting “new” options will be added.
Some are for boys and girls; some for just girls or just boys; grades 1-5 are included but will vary; there will be opportunities for those who sing and act, others who like to exercise and participate in team games, and still others who are visual artists.
All are designed to lead our children to Christ and allow them to develop godly character. All children in grades 1-5 are encouraged to choose a program and be a part of this exciting new fall experience.
The choice is yours! Parents and children need to, together, select the opportunity that best enables your child to grow in their giftedness and abilities.
All Stars for Jesus (grades 1-2) is a club for boys and girls to learn God’s Word and to walk in His paths. They will learn God’s Word through topic- based nights (missions, worship, group discussions, prayer and story time). Walking in His paths will be accomplished through personal application (prayer journaling, encouraging kids to bring their friends and personal application). Cost is $15 per semester and there is no class size limit.
AWANA Truth and Training (grades 3-5 boys & girls). The clubs are divided into groups by gender and provide game time with team games, handbook time emphasizing the importance of God’s Word for sound living, and council time for group Bible study, awards and recognition for individual handbook progress and team play. Regular special events include Pinewood Derby, lock-ins and Olympiads. Cost is $15 per semester and there is no class size limit.
The object of The Life of Faith Girls Club (grades 1-5) provides an encouraging and inspiring environment for mentoring and discipling girls in their Christian walk. Club members will become caught up in the adventures of Elsie—a gentle 8-year-old motherless heiress, and Millie – an independent, 12-year-old frontier girl. Their adventures capture the imagination, shape godly character and connect the generations. The cost is $20 per semester and there is no class size limit.
Cub Scouts (grades 1-5) will teach boys character, life skills, dependability, community service, physical fitness, good citizenship and how to have a relationship with God. For those joining Cub Scouts this fall, we would like to have one parent attend each pack meeting with their son. The cost is $15 per semester and pack size is limited to 20.
KidFit (grades 1-5) is a fun-filled fitness and health program that is equally suited for boys and girls. As they develop the fundamental of fitness, the children will learn about themselves and about God. Cost is $20 per semester and there is no class size limit.
The Performance Arts class (grades 1-5) will encourage children to develop and use their God- given talents in singing, arts and crafts, drama, puppets and Bible lessons. The cost of The Sunshine Kingdom Choirs is $20 per semester and there is no class size limit.
The Visual Arts class (grades 3-5) will cover the subjects of animal drawing, animal sculpture and drawing/painting Bible word pictures. The young artist will learn about shape and form as well as value and shading techniques. In the sculpture portion they will create a pair of realistic 3-dimensional clay animal sculptures which they will paint. The cost is $15 per semester and the class size is limited to 20 per semester.
How to register?
After you and your child have made the selection, come to the Kidz Zone on July 29/30 to sign your child up. If you have chosen a class that has limited enrollment, you will want to register sooner than later.
There is childcare provided for those who help lead the children’s Wednesday programs and for those who attend one of the adult classes held Wednesday evenings in the building. Children must be pre-registered for the Wednesday childcare program. Stop by the Kidz Zone and pick up a colored brochure with more complete descriptions of each class/club.
The Wednesday children’s programs begin at 6:30 p.m. and dismiss at 8:00 p.m.
