New Pastor Joins Staff Directional Team
In the spring of 2005, Dick LeBlanc joined Andy MacFarlane to form the pastoral team for our new church plant - Northpointe Community Church - leaving a hole on our LBC Staff Directional Team (SDT).
We are excited to announce that Tim Bohlke has been hired as the newest Directional Team Pastor here at Lincoln Berean, joining Bryan Clark, Mark Kremer, Jeff Petersen and Donn Stoner on the SDT.
Upon Dick's departure, Jeff Petersen took over the directional leadership of our Administrative Resource Ministries. Tim will now take the directional leadership responsibility for the College and Youth Ministries (previously under Jeff) and the Children's Ministries (previously under Mark Kremer).
As a result of these changes, we will be able to have Tim and Mark, together, giving leadership to the Shepherding Ministries of our church with Tim focusing on children through college and Mark working with all of our Adult "Seasons of Life" Ministries.
On the Resource Ministries side, Donn Stoner will continue to give leadership to our many Discipleship Resource Ministries while Jeff works with our Administrative Resource Ministries and our local and global Outreach Ministries.
We are very excited to have Tim Bohlke step into this vital role in our church. For the past 16 years, Tim has served as the Executive Director of the Youth for Christ Ministries here in Lincoln. His gifting and passion for young people has been clearly seen in the amazing growth and development of Lincoln's YFC - now one of the strongest chapters in the country.
Southeast Nebraska Youth for Christ/Campus Life is part of YFC/USA and has been active in Lincoln since 1969. Currently in Lincoln, there are 33 salaried staff people and 100 volunteers working with over 1,500 teenagers every week in 18 area high schools and middle schools. Tim has been with Campus Life in various roles for 25 years. Bryan Carlson, who has been with YFC for over 11 years, will be taking over as Executive Director in Lincoln on May 1.
Tim grew up on a farm in Kennesaw, NE and has a Bachelor's Degree in teaching and a Master's Degree in Counseling Psychology, both from the University of Nebraska. In addition to his roles with YFC, he has been a guidance counselor and a teen and family counselor.
Tim and Marcia have been married for 21 years and have three children: Drew, a senior at Lincoln High; Ali, a sophomore; and Dylan, a 5th grader. Tim loves traveling with his family, basketball, biking, hiking, fishing and going to ball games with his kids.
