What’s Your Worldview?

Seeing the relevance of the Gospel in the lives of those you know

Recently Pastor Clark gave an assignment which involved selecting a person in our neighborhood, school, or work environment and discovering his/her worldview. As a help to you as you interact with this person in an ongoing discussion, here are some additional questions that you can ask:

  1. What are some of your personal goals in life?  Do you think you will reach these goals?  Why or why not?
  2. What are some of the things that you are most afraid of?  Why?
  3. What does it mean to be a good person or a bad person?
  4. Why do you think humans are here on earth?
  5. Do you think life is worth living? Why or why not?
  6. What do you think makes something you believe reasonable or worth believing?
  7. When are you the most content or happy with your life?
  8. Have you ever read the Bible? Do you think it is believable? Why or why not?
  9. How do you think the universe came to be?
  10. What do you think might be worth fighting or dying for?

Over the course of time, ask these questions using your own words and listen to the answers given.  You will discover your neighbor’s, classmate’s, or co-worker’s worldview.  That is, you will find out what he/she thinks about some of the most important questions of life.  In the process, you will see how relevant the Gospel can be in the lives of those you know.
