Agora Fellowship

New Semester Begins September 2016

Leadership for the Common Good

In ancient Greek, the agora was a gathering place in the middle of a city that served as the center for commerce, politics, education, the arts, religion and civic life. What happened in the agora shaped the society as a whole. Not much has changed. Today the ideas and practices that flow from the academies, churches/temples/synagogues, businesses, houses of government and studios profoundly change and shape the society in which we live.

Purpose
The Agora Fellowship equips young professionals to integrate their Christian commitment and vocation enabling them to impact their professions for God’s kingdom and to be agents of cultural renewal.

Description
The Fellowship is a nine-month intensive program designed to provide young professionals with a solid base of theological, ethical and cultural understanding. Through weekly readings and discussions, monthly gatherings, and one-on-one mentoring with a mature person in their profession, Fellows will develop as influential leaders in their professions who can serve effectively as ambassadors for God’s kingdom and contribute to the common good locally, regionally, nationally and even internationally.

Requirements include:
· Complete weekly readings
· Attend and participate in weekly discussions over the readings
· Attend monthly gatherings to meet with guest speakers or go on excursions in and around the city of Lincoln
· Complete 2-3 written assessments over the course of the nine months
- Book fee of approximately $140

Who should apply?
Men and women, 25-35 years of age, working in fields including higher education, law, medicine, the sciences, media, arts, government and business/finance. The applicant should (1) be currently employed full-time, (2) have at least a year of working experience in his or her profession, (3) possess clear and strong Christian commitment and character and (4) desire to use his or her position of leadership to influence the culture for God’s kingdom and the common good.

Deadline to apply is August 21.

Wednesday Night Equip Her Bible Study

Wednesdays, June 01 - July 20, 6:30PM - 8:00PM

SUMMER STUDY - The Armor of God

We want you equipped for battle! All day, every day, an invisible war rages around you as a devoted, devilish enemy seeks to wreak havoc on everything you hold dear; his battle plan depends on catching you unaware and unarmed. However, this enemy always fails miserably when he meets a woman dressed for the occasion, with the Armor of God. Written and taught by Priscilla Shirer, this 7-week DVD study along with small group discussion and prayer will help you create a personal prayer strategy to live victoriously. If you're tired of being caught with your spiritual guard down, this study is for you. Room: D-203

Join anytime. Daily homework. Cost: $13 for workbook (no cost if you already have a workbook) - REGISTER
