In the fall of 2009, Lincoln Berean Church, in partnership with Avant Ministries, launched a short-cycle church-planting team to Gdańsk, Poland. This team has committed to spend 5 years establishing relationships with the people of Gdańsk, loving them to Christ, and walking alongside them to plant churches that are fully functional before returning to the States.
WHY GDANSK?
They say that what happens in Gdańsk moves the world. Gdańsk has been the center of many significant events – the beginning of the second World War in 1939 and the fall of Communism in Eastern Europe in 1980. Gdańsk and two nearby cities make up the Tri-Cities, with a combined population of around 1 million people. There are less than 1% evangelical believers in this area, with hardly any other missionary presence. It is our desire to see God establish a church-planting movement that will reach generations for the glory of our King.

Prayer Requests
1. Pray that the team meets Poles who are open and receptive to the Gospel.
2. Pray for the team as they adjust to their new environment and culture.
3. Pray for the team as they intensely study the Polish language.
4. Pray that God would establish a reproducing church in Gdańsk. The team has set aside the first Wednesday of each month to fast and pray to this end. You are invited to join them.
