Seemingly small decisions can have a big impact.   What's your one

That is why we are asking you to commit to only ONE thing. Imagine the impact that would result from a thousand of us committing to partner with God and His mission in our world. The impact would be astonishing! God does not ask much of us. He promises to take our feeble efforts and do exceedingly abundantly more than we can possibly imagine...all He requires is a willing heart.

So, the question we ask is, "What’s your one?”

What is that one thing that God has brought to your mind that will engage you in what He's doing in the world in a new way?

Here are some basic ways to begin to get involved:

CARE
Often the life of a missionary is one that feels isolated and excluded. Missionaries are always trying to live in two cultures and this is an exhausting task. On top of this, they often feel as if they are the lone-rangers of the church, on the fringes of community as they seek to bring the Good News to places far off.

With this in mind, it is our desire that Lincoln Berean be a church that never has missionaries who feel this way. Our support and care for them is one of the greatest acts of love we can offer them. However, the reality is that intentional care of our missionaries is the exception, not the rule. Would you be willing to take part in the mission by becoming more intentional in your care and support for one of our missionaries or teams?

PRAY
Frank Laubach called prayer "the mightiest force on earth" and we believe this to be the case. One of the greatest acts of love we can do on behalf of another person is to invoke God's blessing in their life through prayer. Lincoln Berean has dozens of missionaries on the field right now, a team that is just starting their work in Poland, a team preparing to go to Madrid in a year and millions of people around the world who have not been exposed to the light of the gospel. Would you commit to pray about these things faithfully?

SERVE
Pressing out into the world with the message of the gospel is no small task and it is a work that cannot fall on the shoulders of a small few. Whether your gifts are administrative, strategic, interpersonal or task-oriented, God has uniquely shaped each one of us and His desire is that we would use the resource of our gifting to advance His Kingdom.

Within Global Outreach alone there are opportunities that pertain to recruiting future “goers” and “senders”, preparing missionaries and helping to engage the body in what God is doing around the world. Would you be willing to allow your unique gifts to be used to impact the world?

GIVE
Currently, there are ten people from our church body preparing to go to Madrid in October, 2010. While not everyone is called to "go," it will be impossible for anyone to go without people in our body who are willing to send them.

Sending can take on many forms but one of the greatest and most immediate needs those who are going have before them is financial. Going requires those who are passionate about giving. As the Global Outreach Ministry moves forward, we are trusting God to raise up givers who are able and passionate about fueling the movement through the giving of their resources. Would you be a person who could "send" through giving?

GO
Last September, six people from our church stepped off a plane in Gdansk, Poland. Their goal is simple: leave Poland in five years with a self-sustaining Polish church in place. The task is simple but daunting all at once; if God doesn't show up, it is impossible. The adventure they are now living is the act of keeping an eye out for where God is now moving in Gdansk and then partnering with Him. Imagine the joy that will meet this team in 15 years when they see a movement in Gdansk that began in September 2009. Would you be on the next team that will step into the world's darkest places?

This is our task. God has called the Church, all of us, to be agents of hope and reconciliation in the world—to be His ambassadors to a world in desperate need of the grace and knowledge of God.

So, the question is, “What's your one?”
