Support Groups

We seek to offer support to women in need of care resulting from significant life experiences, such as sexual abuse,  addictions, eating disorders, or abortion.

*Divorce Recovery

Saturdays, September 13 – December 6, 5:30 p.m., D-201

Facilitators:  Glenda Cunning and Don & Aletha Sands

Cost:  $15 Book Fee for new participants; no cost for prior participants

Designed for people who are divorced or separated, DivorceCare offers a caring environment in which to explore a biblical approach to issues such as reconciliation, remarriage, forgiveness and the effect of divorce on children and families. DivorceCare emphasizes that real healing from the intense pain of divorce must begin with a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

*DivorceCare for Kids

Saturdays, September 13 – December 6, 5:30 p.m., A-207

Facilitators: Mike & Sherri Bossard

Cost: $15 Registration fee per family

DC4K introduces children (ages 5-12) to the grieving process brought on by divorce and gives them the tools necessary to develop healthier relationships within their own families. Through the biblically based and Christ-centered program, children are encouraged to develop a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Each session is a combination of video dramas, discussion, workbook/journaling and hands-on activities that allow children to process the information and interact with adult leadership. DC4K gives your children a safe and neutral place to recognize and learn how to share their feelings.  Contact Sherri at 770-4816 with questions.

*GriefShare

Tuesdays, September 16 – November 4, 7:00 p.m., D-105

Facilitator:  Dave and Chris Obbink

Cost: $15 book fee (no fee for participants from fall 2007 – present).

Minimum: 8 students

If you’ve lost a spouse, child, family member or friend, you’ve probably found there are not many people who understand the deep hurt you feel. This can be a confusing time when you feel isolated and have many questions about things you’ve never faced before. GriefShare helps you face these challenges and move toward rebuilding your life, offering hope and healing along the way.
