A Reasonable Sacrifice
A Reasonable Sacrifice
If every family unit at LBC gave $100 a month above their regular giving, over a three-year period, it would equal $7.6 million.
This demonstrates to us that if each of us does our part in giving sacrificially to accomplish the purpose, together this project can be completed and paid for in a very reasonable amount of time. Some can give much more than $100 a month. Some cannot give $100 a month. We as leaders believe that collectively, by faith, we as a congregation can give much more than $7.6 million in three years.

The budget
The budget for this capital campaign is $11.86 million. Those costs are broken down in approximation as follows:
- $1.86 million for the new youth complex (Phase One complete and paid off)
- $10 million for the new auditorium
The next step is a big one. It is a 3,500-seat auditorium. Now, $10 million is higher than what was presented about a year ago. But this is for several reasons.
One is because the cost of steel has increased a million dollars and there is just nothing we can do about that. It is estimated that the price of steel is going to do that a couple more times, so we are trying to get in before that happens again.
Also, we made a couple of additions. We added a little bit of programming space back behind the stage area that we are going to leave unfinished, but it needed to get under this shell.
The third thing we did was add a connection with the C-wing. As we looked at the plans and how everything laid out, if the new auditorium did not connect with the C-wing and the lower level of C-wing, traffic flow would have been a disaster. So we added a link that we had to have.
Beyond that, when they began to just lay out 3,500 seats they realized the entire shell needed to be a little bit bigger than originally thought, which adds to the cost. So that arrives at the cost of approximately $10 million.
The construction of the facilities and physical infrastructure necessary to continue to reach people across Lincoln and around the world--namely a new youth complex and a new auditorium--will represent a significant financial step of faith for us together as a church family.
