Decision Making Process
The Decision Making Process
We do not come to our decisions to move forward with building lightly. Take time to understand how we arrive at our decisions.
We have a business team, which is a team that looks at the business financial matters of the church.
It is very important to understand this is a group of highly qualified financial and business people that help us make these decisions. This team looked at all of the issues. They went back and looked at past growth patterns, past giving patterns, the other projects we have done, the interest rates, construction costs, the economy—all of that stuff that just so thrills me. And they have charted it and put it together.
But these are also men of faith and they understand God's part in all of this, and at the end of the day they voted unanimously that we must move forward full speed ahead with this.
That recommendation then comes to the Official Board. The Board is responsible for ministry and the programming of the church. So we look at: what are our needs; where are we headed? And then we take the recommendation of the business team and at the end of the day we, too, voted unanimously that we must move full speed ahead on this project.
