Enlarge the Loop
In 1997, the "Enlarge the Loop...Expand the Vision" campaign was introduced. The needs at that time were obvious.
We were running three weekend services and out of educational space. It was determined that the first phase of the project would be to build a three-story educational building referred to as the "D" wing. In January of 2000, the "D" wing was completed and has become a strategic tool for accomplishing our purpose.
As soon as we moved into the "D" wing, it was obvious that we would need to move on to the "E" phase and build an auditorium as soon as possible.

People, not numbers
Through some creative planning we have managed to continue to grow by adding a Saturday night service and a simulcast service, making it possible to offer five weekend services. Thanks to the weekly sacrifices of the people of LBC, we have been able to continue to accommodate growth under difficult and crowded conditions.
However, it has become evident that we are reaching our creative limit. Too many people have arrived at a worship service only to hear the words, "Sorry, we're full." To offer additional services to our current schedule would not only stretch our people serving in those ministries too thin, but these services would have to be offered at times people could not regularly attend.
For the People Loop to work there must be room not only for today's church family, but for the hundreds God still desires to reach in our city. While our congregation may seem large, it represents only a fraction of the people who need Jesus in our community. Currently, we simply do not have room for you to bring friends and family at times when they most likely will want to attend. We can only squeeze and shuffle so many people into our existing facilities.
It's not about numbers - it's about people. Every seat represents a person who will spend eternity somewhere. Every seat represents our neighbors, work associates and family members. More auditorium seats means more people in the People Loop which means more people complete in Christ. Therefore, to not move ahead by faith and build, would be to give up on our purpose before it is accomplished. That is unacceptable.
With this in mind we, by faith, step ahead into what may be the greatest test of faith in our LBC history.
