God created us to be on "mission," to accomplish His purpose. The mission of the Church Unleashed is to equip and empower the body of LBC, to utilize their gifts to serve the people of Lincoln and the world. By illustrating God's love to others, they will be introduced to Jesus and His transforming power.

The Church Unleashed is not a program of the church, but a movement of the Spirit within the body of Christ here at LBC. We have partnered with organizations in our community that have a variety of needs, from mentoring urban youth, helping the poor, working with pregnant teenage mothers, orphans and more.

+ Reaching out to Internationals: Sunday, February 14th, you are invited to a Friendship Partner Training Class. (includes lunch). Learn about reaching out to Internationals, and find out 'why' we should care - the world has come to us. We have a great priviledge before us. At this event you will learn about the multiple opportunites to serve... providing food, helping transport students to events, becoming a friend to students, etc. You can be involved as little or much as your schedule allows you to be. There is no pressure for a long term involvement commitment. 
Please RSVP by Friday, February 12th, noon. Please feel free to invite friends who might also like to know of this opportunity. We do ask that everyone of the folks coming be solid believers in Jesus Christ. All commitment emails should be sent to .

+ People's City Mission: Male volunteers are needed to help out in the men's shelter. A set schedule, on a regular basis is most needed, although the needs are 24/7, so the timeframe can be flexile. Help is needed with: answering the phone, letting people in and out, distribution of mail and general interaction with the men’s shelter guests.

+ Salvation Army: Volunteers are needed on Sunday evenings to help: cook a hot meal, pack sack lunches, and to go out with the Salvation Army to serve meals to the homeless and needy in our community. The timeframe is from 4 - 7:30pm, and you are welcome to volunteer on a rotating schedule, serving 1 or 2 times a month. 

+ City Impact: Mentor students through teaching and encouragement by joining with City Impact's Impact Reading Center. During and after school volunteer opportunities are available.

+ Clinic with a Heart: More than 75 people from our church are serving at the Lincoln Berean free medical clinic. The church has partnered with Clinic with a Heart to serve the uninsured and underinsured through a ministry of healthcare. “Many of the people who come to the clinic would not see a doctor otherwise because of the cost,” said one volunteer. “And some of these are people with chronic health conditions who need consistent care.”
We have the capacity to see many more patients at each clinic than we are currently seeing. Please help us spread the word! The clinic meets the 2nd Thursday of the month from 5:30pm-7:00pmat the F Street Recreation Center (13th & F Street). We do have Spanish translators on site.

+  Make a difference in the life of a lonely 35 year old man who is mildly, mentally handicapped. He, too, is here on purpose for a purpose, but he needs someone who cares to help him feel that. There are no scheduled expectations; time spent with him would be determined by your schedule.

+ Become a member of the Berean Life Savers Club! Starting now... when you make a donation to the Nebraska Community Blood Bank, fill out a 'count me in card' for Berean. Beginning the first week in May, Lincoln Berean will be on an 8 week schedule for blood drives. save the following dates & plan to give on Mondays: May 3, July 12, Sept 13 and Nov 8. Stop by the Church Unleashed booth Feb 13/14 for more information about the Berean Life Savers Club!

+ Give a Day, Get a Day: The Disney corporation is offering a free day pass to Disney for volunteers who volunteer at qualifying organizations. Go to www.volunteerpartners.org for more information. Some Lincoln, NE organizations are in participation with this program.
