Becoming the Type of People that Can Do the Job

“Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey all that I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

As a Global Outreach team, we are committed to sending missionaries to places of great need throughout the world. The reason we are so committed to this should be obvious: loads of people around the world are lost. In fact, Joshua Project estimates that 3.14 billion people in the world are unreached. That’s an astounding number and it highlights the church’s task. As a church, we aim to be obedient to Jesus’ call in Matthew 28:19-20: “Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey all that I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

Obedience to this mandate that we call “The Great Commission” means that people must go out from our midst – they must go out to the very neighborhoods of Lincoln but they must also go out to the far reaches of the world.

Our commitment to those sensing a call to go is that we will not send you unprepared. We want to walk side by side with potential missionaries to help them become the type of people that can get the job done. Of course that pertains to ministry skills that will be necessary overseas, but it also includes the development of Christlike character that will be able to endure when trials and temptations comes (and they will surely come!).
