We are stoked to be going back to Castaway for another year of summer camp!

For many people, this is a transformational week where they meet Jesus in a personal way that impacts their lives for years or decades – even for eternity.

Castaway is a marvelous location with great accommodations, incredible food, and amazing activity options, including rock climbing, zip line, giant swing, archery tag, gaga ball, outdoor and indoor basketball courts, frisbee golf, crystal clear water to swim in, kayak, hot tubs, and even hammocks to lay out in on the sandy beach.

But honestly, the most exciting aspect of summer camp is that we do it together! In a culture that constantly screams individualism, this week promotes unity in the lives of students. We will step away from the distractions of life, dive into God’s word and worshipping him with all our hearts, and have a ridiculous amount of fun together.

Anyone who is a 6th-12th grade student during the 2023-24 school year is welcome to attend.

While Castaway Club is a Young Life Camp that leases their property out to other entities for camps, retreats, and get-aways, our Youth team will be in charge of and responsible for all of the programming that takes place.

Your students will have the ability to request one (1) roommate when you register (same grade level). We will do our best to accommodate requests. We put a high priority on keeping small groups together the best we can.

The best way to contact your student during camp will be to contact the Youth staff member who will be the point person for communication during camp week. The phone number for this individual will be given out at our pre-camp meetings.

We will enforce a “no phone” policy while at camp, and encourage all students to leave their phones at home. If a student does bring their phone, we will also be collecting phones on the bus as we are in route to camp. We will do our best to keep any devices safe, but we are not responsible for any damaged or stolen electronic items that did not get checked-in.

Absolutely! Students love to receive encouraging messages from friends and family while at camp. We do ask that you be conscientious of what you include in your care package. We love to have fun, but also want to respect the camp property and other people. If something is sent that we feel violates that, we reserve the right to hold the item(s) until after camp is finished and we have returned to Lincoln. Thanks for understanding!

Also, make sure to send your package with enough time for your students to receive it while still at camp.

The address to send packages to is:

LBC Youth (NAME OF STUDENT(s))
51709 County Highway 31, Detroit Lakes, MN 56501

We ask that students ride the bus to camp with us, stay the entirety of camp, and then ride home with us on the bus. This being said, we know that there is sometimes a special circumstance, so if that is the case, please contact the Youth team to discuss.
