Commitments and Concerns

Our hope and prayer is that you will have not only a cross-cultural mission experience but also that the preparation and follow up will truly be life transforming. We are praying that God will use this next year as a significant time of growth in your life! For this reason:

Mission preparation and discipleship will be conducted through your Team Leaders or Global Outreach Leadership. A commitment to this missions opportunity includes full participation in the trainings before and after the trip. The gatherings are designed to disciple and equip you prior to going overseas as well as to process and discover your “next steps” upon returning. The classes will each be between 4-8 weeks long. There will also be team training to cover cultural sensitivity and other details specific to the country where you will be serving. Are you willing to commit to this discipleship experience by participating in the team meetings with us?

Short-Term Mission Team Commitment

If selected to be part of a Lincoln Berean Short Term Mission Team, I make a commitment to:

+ Participate in the training process prior to departure and after I return.
+ Conduct myself in a manner worthy of the Lord while serving Him overseas.
+ Submit to the authority of the team leader or the “host-on-the-field”.
+ Refrain from any behavior which may compromise my witness (i.e. abusive or inappropriate language, substance use, etc.).
+ Take full responsibility for raising support or providing personal finances for all required costs.

In addition, if my behavior constitutes a problem at any time, the team leader has the authority to ask me to return home. Any additional costs incurred as a result of this action will be at my expense.
